Calling emerging writers over the age of 40

The Next Chapter Award supports an emerging writer over the age of 40 yet to publish a full-length work for whom finding time and space to write has proved especially challenging.

If this sounds like you, perhaps you should head over to the Scottsh Book Trust website and look to see if you are Eligibile.  The award is open to poets, novelists, authors of narrative non-fiction and children’s authors who are 40 years of age or above.

The writer will be offered nine months of mentoring with the specific aim of getting them to publication.  The winner will also be awarded a two week retreat at Cove Park in early 2017 to focus on their writing.  In addition the successful writer will receive a bursary of £2000.
